My Location... On the southern Oregon Coast near Coos Bay in Charleston, a small fishing community with more boats than people.  My wife and I chose to move there in 1998 from northern California.

My Career...It began with photography classes at a local college.  I merely intended to improve my love of photography that began at age 16 in a closet darkroom.  One year after classes had begun I was offered a position as a volunteer photographer for the county parks department documenting every aspect of the parks while continuing my education for another year.  I gained confidence with the parks department and became known in the area as a "real photographer".
Opportunities began to arrive and before I realized it my recent education and experience was becoming a business.  Along with many small assignments I was named "Project Photographer" for a 700 acre wetlands and a real estate developement.

In a short time I was represented by a stock photo agency on the east coast and was doing my own marketing at the same time.

What Happened?  I just wanted to take some decent photographs and enjoy my life after being more or less forced into an early retirement, now what?

My wife and I chose to live on the Oregon coast so my new career was put on hold while we went through the long stressful moving process to Oregon.

Things slowly get back to normal in our new state of Oregon and before you know it I am taking photographs again.

Before leaving California tourist related images seem to become the bigger percent of my sales and I felt that would become my main focus in Oregon.

Since I live on the coast naturally images of coastal scenes are a large part of my inventory of 30,000 images.  My wife and I also travel when we can and a good portion of the inventory is of other states.

One does not live by bread alone as they say and various other subject matter has been added to my files.

On occasion I like to diversify with something a tad more artistic such as this fence photo or a macro shot of red peppers or other odds and ends of basic stuff.
Sometimes go totally off the wall with a shot of fermenting garbage at the county dump or a pile of old tires.  Maybe I will show the tires and hold back on the garbage photo!
How Can I be of Service?  Perhaps a few images for a website, images for a travel essay, maybe some for a textbook, a calendar shot?  I have provided images for all those and more including television and newspapers.  What I refrain from if possible, are weddings and corporate type assignments.  I prefer natural light and shooting outdoors more than anything.
So There ya go - - I have many national and some international images to my credit and a proliferation of local stuff such as websites, maps, brochures and chamber of commerce images, see link below and check out the photo gallery on the site.
