18 Steps to Filter E-Mail:

1.) Open Outlook Express
2.) Pull Down the File Menu, click on New, Click on Folder.
 
3.) Enter SPAM for the folder name then click  OK.
 
4.) Select Tools then Message Rules then Mail.
 
5.) Put a check mark on the line that says: "Where the subject line contains specific words"

6.) Put a check mark on the line that says: "Move it to the specified folder". 

7.) Type SPAM Rule in box 4.

 
8.) Click on the blue section that says "contains specific words"
 
9.) Type (SPAM) in the first text box exactly as it appears here. 

10.) Click on the Add Button.

11.) Click on the OK Button.

 
You should see contains '(SPAM)' where it use to say contains specific words.  

12.) Click on the blue section that says "specified".

 
13.) Click on the SPAM folder. (It will turn blue)

14.) Click OK.

 
15.) Verify that your screen looks like the picture at the right.  If they do, click on OK.
 
16.) You should see a message about applying the rule after the message arrives.  Click on OK.
 
17.) To test the rule, click on the Send / Receive Button.
 
18.) To view your spam messages left click on the SPAM folder.
